When I was in sixth grade, I was a \u201cvictim of the plague\u201d at my middle school medieval festival. It is, to this day, my best performance. I LOVED the medieval time period as a kid, but, you know, more-so the knights, princesses and castles rather than the actual plague. When Candlewick reached out for help in promoting <\/span>Knightology<\/i><\/strong><\/a>, I was reminded just how much my twelve year old self would love this book!<\/span>

\n<\/span>Knightology is<\/i> a <\/span>\u2018ology<\/span><\/i> book from children\u2019s English author Dugald A. Steer. <\/span>The Ologies are a series of illustrated fantasy books, including the magical Wizarology<\/em>, Monstorology<\/em>, and Pirateology<\/em> – to name a few. In Knightology<\/em>, Steer presents a tell-all guide to the mythical occupation of knighthood. Kids will learn all sorts of fun stuff – from the the skills needed to prevail in a jousting tournament to the ins and outs of a castle a knight might defend. <\/span>

To narrow in on the best audience, we focused on parents of children ages 10+, grandparents and librarians with a strong interest in medieval history, legends, myths and fables – and even fans of Game of Thrones! We paired this with our lexicon targeting  keywords like knights, Sir Lancelot, Excalibur, Robin Hood, King Arthur, and other fun medieval talk. And with the holidays coming up, we knew that targeting children\u2019s book buyers and holiday shoppers would add the final touch!<\/span><\/p>\n

\nBecause this is a niche children\u2019s book, we were interested in discovering which traits performed best. We discovered parents of teens and parents of pre-teens performed best with the campaign, along with those that had a strong interest in role playing games! Knightology<\/em> finished with a strong .12% CTR, and reached niche audiences on top sites including <\/span>PBS, Discovery, io9, History Channel,<\/span><\/i> TIME, AV Club<\/span><\/i>, and Game of Thrones specific sites like <\/span>Watchers on the Wall<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Winter is Coming<\/span><\/i>. <\/span>
