The memoir&#8217;s author, Dovey Johnson Roundtree, courageously fought for justice all her life, up until her death in 2018. From the streets of Charlotte, NC to the segregated courtrooms of Washington D.C., Roundtree broke gender and color barriers, helped shatter Jim Crow laws, and so much more. Michelle Obama says, \u201cDovey Johnson Roundtree set a new path for women and proved that the vision and perseverance of a single individual can turn the tides of history.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/adbiblio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Screen-Shot-2019-12-05-at-10.46.15-AM-700x496.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2783\" width=\"439\" height=\"309\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The core target audience for the campaign included nonfiction readers and book buyers, with a demographic test group of African American readers. On top of this, we layered in traits like NPR listeners, biography and documentary lovers, Civil Rights interests, history buffs, Liberal activists, Criminal Justice Professionals, and Lawyers and Judges.  We also targeted content with terms and phrases like <em>Oprah\u2019s Book Club, NPR\u2019s Code Switch podcast, Well Read Black Girl, African American biographies, <\/em>and<em> Civil Rights Movement.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>Comp titles included stand outs like <em>Becoming<\/em> by Michelle Obama, <em>The Book of Gutsy Women<\/em> by Chelsea &amp; Hillary Clinton, <em>Hidden Figures<\/em> by Margot Lee Shetterly, and <em>Just Mercy <\/em>by Bryan Stevenson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/adbiblio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Screen-Shot-2019-12-05-at-10.46.23-AM-700x493.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2784\" width=\"421\" height=\"296\" srcset=\"https:\/\/adbiblio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Screen-Shot-2019-12-05-at-10.46.23-AM-700x493.png 700w, https:\/\/adbiblio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Screen-Shot-2019-12-05-at-10.46.23-AM-240x169.png 240w, https:\/\/adbiblio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Screen-Shot-2019-12-05-at-10.46.23-AM-768x541.png 768w, https:\/\/adbiblio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Screen-Shot-2019-12-05-at-10.46.23-AM.png 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 421px) 100vw, 421px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The campaign included our popular native ad, and featured a photo of Roundtree from the cover, which we loved! (<em>side note:<\/em> <em>images with people&#8217;s faces tend to perform well!)<\/em> Finishing at a .34% CTR, the ad ran on top sites including <em>Bustle<\/em>, <em>The Root, Blavity, Oprah Mag, The Guardian, Essence, Washington Post, Salon, Bossip, Buzzfeed<\/em> and more! The book resonated strongly with African Americans (.36% CTR), but especially well with Affluent African Americans (.51% CTR!) and African American Documentary viewers (.59% CTR!). Other top traits included Political Activists (.78% CTR), Law\/Criminal Justice interests (.75% CTR), U.S. History buffs (.6%), and those with an interest in Civil Rights (.95% CTR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Mighty Justice<\/em> should be required reading for all.
