S&S Native Ad Case Study: Impatient Foodie

Food, glorious food! We were incredibly excited to work with S&S on promoting Elettra Weidemann’s new cookbook, Impatient Foodie. As a busy millennial herself, she asks in her cookbook, “Why did good food always go hand-in-hand with slowing down? Wasn’t there a way to have slow, sustainable, delicious food without the ‘slow’?”Impatient Foodie helps busy bees to find the time to put the best healthy weeknight dinners on the table!

We started out by running a traditional AdBiblio campaign combining optimized reader targeting with standard web banner ads. We targeted a mix of foodies, cookbook buyers, and online recipe seekers with demos and traits including full time working mothers, farmers market shoppers, vegans/vegetarians, and more – the perfect audience who would love healthy recipes in a hurry. The traditional campaign finished with an above average banner performance, but adding native into the mix really had a remarkable effect on the CTR!

For the native ad, we used our headline scoring tool and personal expertise to create copy that would entice cookbook buyers and foodies! Targeting this niche group on top-tier sites including Food Network, E! Online, US Magazine, My Fitness Pal, HGTV, The Hollywood Gossip, and People, the ad finished with an impressive CTR of .26%!
