We love a good historical fiction binge—and Sourcebooks has some serious gems in their backlist! We were thrilled to help them spotlight six incredible titles from Kim Richardson and Marie Benedict. From the Gilded Age to WWII, these stories are full of rich detail and drama that historical fiction readers love!

Marie Benedict and Kim Michele Richardson both write powerful historical fiction that shines a light on women. Benedict often spotlights overlooked women in history, weaving rich narratives around real-life trailblazers, while Richardson brings heart and depth to tales of resilience, often set in her home state of Kentucky. Perfect for book clubs, their stories spark great conversations and uncover powerful pieces of forgotten history!
The campaign included our banner ads (created by us!) and focused on reaching bestselling book buyers and avid fiction readers and book buyers. On top of this, we included behaviors and traits like historical fiction readers and book buyers, period drama viewers, history buffs, book club members, Goodreads users, book influencers and followers, paperback book buyers, and more!

Comps included popular historical fiction authors like Kate Quinn, Kristin Hannah, Heather Webb, Stephanie Dray, and Ariel Lawhon, and keywords included words and phrases like historical romance, women in history, inspired by real events, best historical fiction authors, Gilded Age fiction, WWII fiction, and more!
The ads resonated strongly with bestselling fiction readers who are browsing top-tier news & entertainment sites like Bustle, People, Salon, and The Guardian (.34% CTR), fiction readers who watch period dramas (.31% CTR), history buffs who read/buy fiction books (.25% CTR), and book club members who read/buy fiction books ( .21% CTR). The ads ran on top sites including Goodreads, Booklist Queen, The Guardian, NY Times, NPR, Mashable, Slate, Bustle, SF Chronicle, The New Yorker, Cosmopolitan, and more!
