Here at AdBiblio we’re all about promoting diverse titles and authors. So, we were super excited to help Algonquin Books (our neighbor here in NC!) with their recent Hear Our Voices campaign. Featuring nine titles from authors like Lisa Ko and Heather Abel, it’s a wonderful celebration of fiction written by diverse women. Tayari Jones, one of the featured authors and winner of the 2019 Women’s Prize for Fiction, says “We need women’s voices now, in these times, more than ever.” And we couldn’t agree more.

Welcome to part two! Last week, we shared how we helped Kensington promote reach mystery and thriller readers and Target shoppers for Paranoid by Lisa Jackson. This week, we’re taking a deep dive into The Long Flight Home by Alan Hlad. Several years ago my Dad got me into Foyle’s War, and so began my slight obsession with British detectives. I’ve watch them all: Broadchurch, Luther, Sherlock, and even dabbled in Midsomer Murders (google it.) So, I was thrilled when Soho Press came to us for help in spreading the word about British mystery and thriller novelist Mick Herron. He’s gaining popularity here in the States, and we loved helping promote Joe Country –the sixth book in his Slough House series!

Yes, it is true we are the book ad specialists. BUT, I bet you didn’t know we can successfully advertise more than just books! Bloomsbury came to us in hopes of promoting their new expedition game, Judge Dredd: The Cursed Earth, from Osprey Games. Judge Dredd was originally a comic book character, and appears in a number of movie and video game adaptations. We love running Sci-Fi and Fantasy book campaigns, and were thrilled to take our talents and venture into the gaming world!

Being a fan of book readings myself, I know that half the battle is knowing when and where a favorite (or about-to-be favorite) author might show up. I’m still angry about a missed signing with Cheryl Strayed in 2014. Why didn’t anyone tell me?! I’m hurting to this day. SO, it makes me really happy when we get to help connect the literary world with authors in real life. And that’s exactly what we did this past January, when we helped Kensington Books spread the word about an upcoming author event in Florida!

While browsing Bustle the other day, I came across this article: 8 Reasons to Give the Gift of Poetry This Season. As it points out, there’s so many reasons to love poetry: it’s timeless, deeply personal, offers perspective – and so much more! I’ve long been a fan of poetry, even if I grapple with the meaning behind some of them (but I guess that’s part of the fun!). So, I was super thrilled when Simon & Schuster came to us to help promote the 2018 edition of The Best American Poetry.
